Let’s get gangster.
Mafia. Rounds of gunshots. Good ole’ fashioned fist fighting. Heroic, undercover cops willing to cross lines for their city. Unfortunate lovers. And we haven’t even mentioned the list of A-list actors yet. This is the story of Mickey Cohen, the mob boss who played a large role in the development of organized crime on the West coast – the multimillion-dollar industry fueled by gambling, narcotics, unions, and politics. It’s inspired by real events, specifically involving LAPD’s fight to keep the East coast mafia out of their city.
Sgts. Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling) and (Josh Brolin) scheme to rid the city of mob boss Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn), while meanwhile, Grace Faraday (Emma Stone), Cohen’s girlfriend, complicates things by becoming involved with Sgt. Wooters.
Cohen was a boss, and for years he owned the city. At the Austin Moviehouse & Eatery, we want to make sure you have a similar, sophisticated experience, but without having to get your hands dirty. However, we’re still leaving you the option.
Have a dirty martini before your showing at our full-service bar to get into the mood, or have one personally delivered to your seat if you plan to view in a dine-in theater. Book early to ensure you have a plush recliner involved.
Join us at Austin’s premiere theater, Moviehouse & Eatery because this is one movie you don’t want to miss. The trailer suggests there won’t be a dull moment in the film, and I’m willing to bet you’ll be coming back for a second round (be it martinis or another viewing) in the time it takes the mobsters to reload.
