The Shack

After the abduction of Missy Phillips, family and friends assume she is dead. Her father, Mackenzie Allen Phillip, is grieving over the loss of his youngest child. In his suffering, Mack receives a letter which he suspects is from God. The letter asks him to return to The Shack where it is believed Missy was murdered. After much contemplation, Mack decides to visit The Shack for the first time since his daughter went missing. He meets an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa. Mack doesn’t realize that this journey will change his life forever.

Director Stuart Hazeldine brings The Shack to life in his feature film debut. The film is based on a 2007 novel of the same named written by William P. Young. The film stars Avatar actor Sam Worthington as Mackenzie Allen Phillips, the grieving man who receives a personal invitation from God. His missing daughter, Missy, is played by the Christmas Cookies actress Amélie Eve. Oscar winner Octavia Spencer plays the role of Papa, the woman Mack meets on his journey. Country superstar and The Blindside actor Tim McGraw plays the role of Willie. The film also features Man on Fire actress Radha Mitchell and Mama actress Megan Charpentier.
