La La Land

Aspiring actress Mia Dolan and jazz musician Sebastian Wilder find themselves living in La La Land, literally and figuratively. Mia serves lattes to movie stars while Sebastian plays at cocktail parties in hole-in-the-wall clubs. The two fall in love while working hard to make ends meet. When both Mia and Sebastian start to find success, they find it increasingly hard to maintain their love affair while also pursuing their dreams.

La La Land is a modern-day musical with original songs performed by Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and John Legend, among others. Writer/director Damien Chazelle, well known for his Oscar-winning film Whiplash!, described his film as a sort of “ love story to Los Angeles.” Drive actor Ryan Gosling lends his musical talents as Sebastian Wilder, opposite The Help actress Emma Stone as his sweetheart, Mia Dolan. La La Land is the third time the Oscar-nominated pair have played leading lovers! First they starred in Crazy Stupid Love, then Gangster Squad. The film also features Cinderella Man actress Rosemarie DeWitt and Whiplash! Oscar winner J.K. Simmons. Oscar-winning singer-songwriter also John Legend has a supporting role!
