Kong: Skull Island

It’s 1971 and a secret organization named Monarch discovers a mysterious island that also happens to be the origin of a new species. The group sets out on an expedition to find out more about this new creature, but they learn when they get there that there is just one: Kong. This giant ape is in the center of battle for the dominion of the island. His nemeses are the apex predators, nicknamed the “skullcrawlers,” who are responsible for wiping out his kind. The expedition crew fights for their own survival at the cost of Kong and the other island creatures, but they start to realize that Kong may be worth saving.

Kong: Skull Island is a reboot of the King Kong franchise and features the largest American manifestation of the legendary ape on screen. The Kings of Summer director Jordan Vogt-Roberts brings the larger-than-life Kong to life in the second film of the Warner Bros. MonsterVerse, after Godzilla. The star-packed film features Oscar winner Brie Larson as Mason Weaver, The Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston as Captain James Conrad, and Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson as Lieutenant Colonel Packard. Golden Globe winner John Goodman and Oscar nominee John C. Reilly also lend their talents to the already talented cast. The Great Wall actress Tian Jing plays the role of San Lin, a scientist at Monarch, and Straight Outta Compton actor Corey Hawkins plays Houston Brooks, a young geologist recruited for the expedition team.
