Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

Dr. William Marston was a Harvard psychologist and co-creator of the modern lie detector test, but his personal life was much more complicated. Marston was in a polyamorous relationship with his wife, Elizabeth, and their mistress, Olive Byrne. In 1941, inspired by the feminist ideals born of his blended family, Marston created the long surviving comic book character, Wonder Woman. The film follows the controversy generated by the female heroine regarded as a role model for girls and women.

Luke Evans, most recently seen as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, stars as Dr. Marston, with Rebecca Hall (The Prestige) as Elizabeth and Bella Heathcoate (Fifty Shades Darker) as Olive. Written and directed by Angela Robinson (True Blood), this biographical drama premiered at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival. Stop by and meet the women behind the man behind the woman.
