Patriot’s Day

Patriot’s Day chronicles the actions of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis during the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the days that followed. Davis, along with the help of Boston PD and the FBI, executed a city-wide manhunt to root out the two terrorists responsible for the act of violence.

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis is played by Golden Globe winner John Goodman alongside Mark Wahlberg as Sergeant Tommy Saunder of the Boston PD. Wahlberg also produced the film, his third collaboration with director Peter Berg. Oscar winner J.K. Simmons joins the cast as Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese of the Watertown PD with Vincent Curatola as Thomas Menino, the Mayor of Boston. Golden Globe winner Kevin Bacon shares the screen as Special Agent Richard DesLauriers from Boston’s branch of the FBI. Michelle Monaghan lends her talents as Carol Saunders, Tommy’s wife and an RN who was present at the bombing and provided care in the aftermath of the attack. The two terrorists, brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerian Tsarnaev are played by previous Disney star Alex Wolff and newer face Themo Melikidze, along with Melissa Benoist as Tamerian’s wife Katherine Russell.
