Mother!

A youngs woman’s tranquil life with her husband in their country home is disrupted when a stranger and his wife unexpectedly arrive to stay with them. Filled with moments of dreamlike discomfort, this psychological thriller is shrouded in mystery, and is certain to push disconcerting buttons. Director Darren Aronofsky says of the film, “It’s a cruise missile shooting into a wall, this film. I want audiences to be prepared for that and prepped that it’s a very intense ride.”

Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence dropped out of another project to work on Mother! and is joined by fellow Academy Award winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men). Writer and director Darren Aronofsky of Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Noah, The Wrestler presents a new genre of terror of which he says, “Knowing that there’s some terrifying secret at the core of this thing, that the film’s going to go there, and you should only come if you’re ready to get on that roller coaster.”
