Despite his family’s unexplained, generations long ban on music, twelve year-old Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Following a mysterious chain of events, Miguel finds himself in the land of the dead, a place where no living person has ever gone! This leads him to the most extraordinary family reunion imaginable. In their efforts to get him home, Miguel, his deceased family, and new trickster friend, Hector, discover the truth behind his mysterious past.

Coco is another collaboration between Disney and Pixar after other successful ventures including Finding Dory, Toy Story, and Inside Out. Eleven year old Anthony Gonzalez stars as the voice of Miguel, with Gael Garcia Bernal as Hector, Benjamin Bratt as Ernesto de la Cruz, and Alanna Ubach (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce) as Mama Imelda. The colorful imagery of this Dia de los Muertos animated adventure is a sight to see!
